Food Services Training Program:
Since 2004, through our successful job training program, 90% of our graduates go on to work in the food service industry.
Chef Ric’s embraces the legacy of the former Rideau Bakery. Established by the Kardish Family (1930), which provided warmth and a feeling of home for 90 years. ‘Chef Ric’s’ follows this vision through:
1. healthy and affordable prepared foods;
2. an expanded catering service; and
3. an expanded Food Services Training Program
Chef Ric’s is a unique social enterprise for The Ottawa Mission and a community asset for people from all walks of life. We’re so grateful for our donors and partners for your support to help even more people in need.
The Food Services Training Program
For men and women looking to change their lives, the FSTP is a four-month job training program to teach the skills needed to work in a commercial kitchen. FSTP applicants must demonstrate only one qualification to be accepted — a desire to change their lives for the better.
Students pay no costs and we ensure they have all the tools they need to succeed. Students graduate with not only a credential that allows them to be self-supporting, but also with newfound confidence, pride and dignity.
